TIMBER

Decking

All our stock is sustainably produced and supplied from reputable Australian sources. Being mainly an outdoor product, decking needs to meet strict fire rating requirements (called BAL rating) and should be able to withstand the weather conditions in the area where the decking is to be laid.

We stock most timber varieties of native Australian standard size decking. For example, the following varieties are always readily available:

Timber Varieties and Sizing

Spotted gum, ironbark, blackbutt, jarrah, silver top ash, tallowwood, stringy bark

Sizes – 85mm, 135mm wide and 19mm, 22mm and 32mm thick boards

Our factory makes recycled decking from reclaimed timber products. Since this is made by us, we can produce any decking to any specifications to match your specific needs. This, however, depends on the reclaimed material available and this is not always the case. We do also offer reclaimed decking boards, once again this depends on the stock availability.

We have experts who are always happy to advise and to inform the customer on the best timber variety to use, and the best coating treatment to apply, for the customer’s particular circumstances. Just call or visit to get this free advice without any obligations.

This however, a very important consideration when considering what decking to buy is the situation where the decking is going to be laid. Exposure to sun and rain are very important factors to take into account. There needs to be adequate drainage to prevent water from gathering in or on the timber and a good airflow under the decking is important. Care and knowledge of these factors will help prevent cupping and cracking of the boards after they have been laid.

Re-milled floorboards can be milled to achieve an antique look, utilising natural aging and surface cracked lines, or you can have a clean fresh look.
